It seems I "broke" something again

okay...I don't know what the heck I did, but all my triggers and aliases in 6.16 are completely gone.

When I click on one of the buttons, such as alias or trigger, I get a window that pops up, and it has on the left, 2 folders, autolog and system. Then, if I click on the system folder, it opens up and i get another set of folders, like automapper, directions, directionDiag, keypad, and a few others. If I clikc on a folder on the left, the right side of the window has a box called "Edit Class", and it has 2 tabs, "Properties" and "Class Script".

I have gone through the menus and clicked on and off every setting I've seen, and it seems my stuff is gone. I have no idea how or why it happened. I was content with my settings previously (list of aliases, triggers, etc on the left in the window, then the values and scripts and whatnot on the right. I don't mess with things once I get them set to something I like.

No matter what I do, I can't find my triggers or aliases. I even tried renaming my setting.dok file, since that worked with my previous "oddness", (reference other post)

*sigh* Dunno why I've been having so many issues here. Please help me get my junkola back. What file are all the triggers and aliases saved in? I'm going to start backing that up constantly until I can figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Sorry to keep bugging about this. Thanks a lot.

Settings are stored in .mud files. They usually are named with the name of your MUD and are in a folder with the name of your MUD.

If, after making sure that you have the correct settings file and everything else, you still can't see your settings, try clicking on View|Show Hidden and View|Show Inherited inside the Settings Editor to see if that helps. If you still can't see them, try exporting all of your settings to a text file and maybe you will see something there that will give you a clue as to what happened.

what i ended up doing was export all my settings from my main system as a text file, then imported them onto the "problematic" laptop. All is/was well, except now, I have to import settings every time i open up zmud. If I shut down, when I start back up, I have to re-import all the same settings.

quite annoying, actually. Anyone know a way I can maintain my settings?

You need to click on Settigs|Save after you import your settings.

Which reminds me of that great atdisconnect alias addition: #SAVE

That has saved midnight oil a few times for me now.
