Non Basic Direction Commands |
Hello,
I am a complete novice when it comes to working with cmud. I've figured out some things but other things still elude me. I'm trying to get the mapper to work when I send in a non basic direction command, e.g. instead of "n" "drive n". I would appreciate any help on this.
Thanks! |

Assuming you always have to drive a given exit...
Open up Room Properties.
Switch to the Exits tab.
Select the exit in question.
Put your special exit command on the name line. |

The exits of each room are still nesw etc., but the way in which you move must be through using a special command like "drive". So, drive n, effectively moves you one room north, but the auto mapper does not pick up that you've done so. I was hoping to be able to auto map a large area while using the drive "direction" command.

Unfortunately not.
I would just send both commands, that will allow you to create the map with proper layout.
Then, once you are finished editing the map properties, you can navigate it with just the Numpad like you are used to. |

I guess you could try to send this command:
>drive n>n
It works for me to map "enter" exits or when i want an "up" to become a "north", for instance |

Another solution is to add "drive n" to the list of commands in the Direction with the shortname n. In one mud, my Direction 'n' has: "n|north|ln|lead north|lead n|sneak north|sneak n|swim n|swim north|lead swim n|lead swim north". Any of those mud commands will trigger a move north on the automapper.
