I am completely new to using zMUD; I have never used it before. I was wondering if someone could walk me through connecting to dragon realms with zMUD. Im completely lost and would apreciate any help.

click on new character.. if you know the address of dragon realms Mud, you can enter the hostname in the little host name box and then enter the port to connect on.. Then click connect.. If you do not know the host name then look at the list on the left hand side and scroll thru to see if dragon realms is on there, if it is.. click it and hit connect and login and zmud will attempt to detect login/password triggers for you to make logging in easier.

Dragonrealms is a little different than a normal mud connection. Simuplayer, do a search on this forum for the word dragonrealms or simutronics and that should lead to a thread that's already dealt with this.

I tried doing searches for both Dragon Realms and Simutronics, and none of the threads available had anything on logging in. Anyone with any ideas? I guess I could just use DRConnect, but I've heard zMUD is a LOT better.

Okay..what you wanna do is this.

Make a new character. The host IP will be game3.play.net port 4901
don't connect yet.

Next you will use the sge to log into the game..or the web page if you choose. If you do the web page method you will want to save the link as something on your computer. If you use the SGE sign in and than hit cancel on the launcher when it pops up or close the wizard window when it opens.

Next.. if using the SGE method. Open the gse.~xt file in your c drive than look at the last line. KEY=BUNCHANUMBERS
copy the numbers.
If using the page method. open the file you saved should be goplay_wiz.asp and copy the key out of that.

GO back to zmud and click connect. paste the key into the command line and hit enter twice and yer in.

Me and Karthic made an alias that will copy the key and stuff from the goplay_wiz.asp file automatically upon connection if you want it just ask.

P.S.: You might need to go into regedit and remove anything relating to the launcher to keep the launcher from launching automatically when you click on go play link on the page.
