CMud doesn't support http proxy server?? |
If it does, I don't know where to find it.
On a side note, I looked at some of the old ZMud posts which says you can't connect to a Mud over http proxy using telnet protocol. But the fact is, I can! I tried using putty telnet, set my proxy server which is a corporate http proxy server, and it works fine.
If it doesn't support http proxy, I'm not going to pay for this thing. |

Yes, it does support http proxy server.
You can set it up in Preferences - Network - Proxy server under the 'WWW server' label. |

Thanks for your answer, but it did not help :(
According to this: http://forums.zuggsoft.com/modules/mx_kb/kb.php?mode=doc&k=2817
It says:
The WWW Proxy is not used for MUD connections. You cannot play a MUD through a simple WWW or HTTP proxy server (which is only intended for web browsing). However, several features within CMUD, such as the Help File updates, Shared Package Library updates, and checking for a new CMUD version, require an HTTP web connection. If you have a web firewall, enter the hostname and port of that firewall to allow these web connections to operate normally.
Yet I can connect to the MUD using Putty via a Telnet connection and setting my http proxy server values in Putty. |

Ouch, you are right.
Didn't you try the same trick in cmud? I mean put the same values in these fields? |
