sorting a view by formula

I'm having some issues with this =).

namely, in my view, I have a formula to dictate sort order ie for food (&db_makesfull/&db_weight) which unfortunately doesn't appear to work. The actual statistic works, because I do also display this statistic as a field, and sorting it by dragging the field across doesn't work either. Nor does simply clicking on the collum header ^ button thingie. Nor does any combination of the above =).

This all came from zugg's helpfiles (the weighting idea), and I just can't get it working boohoo =). Has anyone else had and resulved issues such as this?

Very few people still use the DB module, given that ZMud is developmentally complete (no more upgrades, no more bugfixes, no new features) and CMud has SQL support.

Also, you really shouldn't bump topics more than a year old. The circumstances could have changed, and such will be more likely the older you go.

Matt Lofton. I bumped it because I didn't want to write it myself again in the exact same words and to show that I am not the only one that needed an answer. If you can't help, thats ok I understand that not everyone knows every answer. It didn't get answered before, so maybe it just can't be answered.

As far as SQL, I don't know it. I am using the DB in Zmud right now and I've gotten it working really well for what I am trying to do. The sort for a formula answer would help me, but its not critical. I thought this place was the place to ask for help. If you look at my posts however, you will see I have posted 3 maybe 4 times seeking help and have not received any. I just Forum dive for someone else that may have had a question answered and try to apply those. 100% of my learning has come this way and from the documents in Zmud, none from someone helping me directly. I've done very well with it. Your response is the only the second response I have had to date. (The other one told me to use Site menu to search forums instead of the search button. super helpful to me)

I understand Cmud is the supported version. One day I may have the time to learn SQL and start learning how to incorporate it into what I need. But these Zmud forums are still up and so even with my past posts not resulting in anything, I thought I would bump this. Sorry it's against your sense of forum etiquette.

Well, If I had posted my problem, it wouldn't have been the exact same words. But this guys problems and his answer would probably apply to me. I got the average weapon damage formula found somewhere on these forums --- %diceavg(&Damage) --- and thought it would be advantageous to sorting via this column. I will either find a fix on my own which I can probably figure out (as I've done with everything so far) or just not have it sorted, which isn't a big deal either. Maybe I can have the output sent to another column as a fixed number and use that to sort. Probably will just ignore the issue though.
