CMUD PRO issues experienced |
Dear all,
First of all I'd like to thank who has made this amazing product. When I was a kid I used to love ZMUD, and now, many many years later, I'm back in the game again (litterally) and buying CMUD PRO.
I'm having though a series of problems, most probably due to my inexperience.
They are the following:
- keys: dupplicate actions --> when I create a key, for example "F1", and I associate one command "backstab", the client will ALWAYS send to the server the command twice. This even for sequences of commands. They are all dupplicated, which obviously makes it impossible to use keys.
- port not saved on session id --> every time I reopen CMUD and click on my session (a specific mud) I'm not able to connect o get directly a client error. When going to verify the session properties I see that he changes the port to the default 23. I have to change it manually, save again the session, and then riconnect. The next time I open CMUD I have to do it all over again.
- html logging no black background --> I'm logging in an HTML format, and all is fine except the colours. The colours used to log are not the same as the ones in the game. For example in the game the main descriptions of locations are grey/white while the whole background is black. In the logs the background is white and the descriptions are black. This is just one of the "messed up" colours.
- sometimes I start it and audio signaling works, other times not --> I noticed by chance yesterday evening that CMUD provides an audio warning if an update happens in the client when it is in the background. Strangely enough today already it does not happen. Did I mess up something?
- command + variable --> this is not an issue, simply my incapacity. I'd like to set a key and associate it with a command that will be sent to the server but not executed without additional information. For example 1 == backstab
When wanting to backstab an elf I'd digit "1 elf"
How was it done?
As always than you for your time, efforts and assistance and happy hunting.

Dear all,
Having bought the CMUD program and licenced the installation I'm not experiencing anymore most of the issues.
What still is bothering me is the part regarding the logging:
"- html logging no black background --> I'm logging in an HTML format, and all is fine except the colours. The colours used to log are not the same as the ones in the game. For example in the game the main descriptions of locations are grey/white while the whole background is black. In the logs the background is white and the descriptions are black. This is just one of the "messed up" colours.
"
Any insight on how to resolve this issue?
Thanks!

My first guess is that the locations from the mud are not coming specifically defined as grey/white, but rather as "default", and that the window you are viewing the log in has different defaults from the one you view your mud in. If that's not the problem, you'll have to describe all of the messed up colors in detail, preferably showing us the actual raw log so that we can see the color coding.

Dear Rahab,
Thank you for your availability.
I'll prepare all the screenshots and upload them so that you can have an idea of what is driving me nuts :D
Thanks!
