Change keypad functionality

Hello all,

I've been poking around through the options and haven't been able to find this for myself, hoping someone can steer me right.

I've found that being able to navigate with the keypad has been very useful, it's much faster than "n, enter, e, enter, etc, etc". Recently, though, I've decided that I don't like the "look" command. Pressing 5 on the numpad sends a command of "look" but, for me, that gives me the very long description of the room I'm currently standing in. Usually I'm doing this after a fight to regain my bearings and all I need is the exits of the room. Is there a way to change it so that when I hit the 5 it sends "glance" instead of "look"?

Thanks!

You could just make a new macro on that key, and it should override the default one. If you want to actually edit the default one, it's in the English Keypad package - you'll probably need to check View -> Show Default Packages in the Package Editor to get it to show up on the list of enabled packages.

Do:
Ctrl+k (this should make a popup box that will prompt you to press the key you want) press the 5 on your keyboard
This will set up a macro for you, just put 'glance' (or maybe even 'exits' depending on your mud) into the VALUE box and then save your new macro.

Then, if it has been done correctly, it should do 'glance' or whatever you choose every time you hit 5.

This can work for other things too, like making the / and * buttons on your keypad stand for 'in' and 'out'

you can even press Ctrl+k and then shift+5 and put in a value of 'Map'

-When you press 5 it would do 'glance' but when you press shift+5 it would send 'map' to the mud!

You can get a lot more out of your keypad than ever before! haha. Good luck :)
