Alternate IP Settings? |
Is there a way to set-up an alternate IP address for a session? It could either be automatically connected to after failing a connection to the session after X amount of time or tries, or possibly be accessed by holding down a certain key when clicking on it, etc... ?

I think the only good way to do it is to have a second session, identical to the first but with a different IP address.

I think it would be interesting as a suggestion then, to set-up an alternate IP address for sessions. Reduces clutter and such of multiple sessions.

I've never seen a mud with an alternate address. Is there one? How does that work? If there is, I suppose the suggestion couldn't hurt.

Dark and Shattered Lands (dsl-mud.org) has two IPs: 69.6.167.236 and 63.97.43.236, you can connect to it via either one, and if one IP is down, the other is sometimes still working.

It could also be useful to connect to a mud directly on one ip, and connect through proxy on another.

It was a suggestion for a new feature. There is no way to do it currently in Cmud.
