screen flash?

I was getting some help from a friend with fixing some zmud to cmud trigger conversions (deleting the old and importing corrected xml files), and noticed that randomly - not on any specific timer or pattern of input - my whole screen would flash in the zmud window only. It only happens for a fraction of a second, and it's white. (much, but not all of the text on my screen is white, on a black backdrop)

I disabled all the new triggers my friend sent me - that didn't help.
I tried turning off triggers completely - that didn't help.

It can happen while I am not entering any input into the mud whatsoever.
It can happen when I am in the middle of typing a line of text.
It has happened once, right as a tick timer went off.
It seems to be completely unconnected to any input or output from the mud.

Anyone have any suggestions?

with thanks in advance for your considered advice,

~cordir

I'm thinking you have an extra window there that you don't know about which is set to have a network connection. Most often this is caused by layout corruption, so you may want to use the SHIFT trick. My guess is that this window is sitting at the game login screen and is timing out, causing an autoreconnect.

"Shift trick" ? could you elaborate?

I *do* have a log that auto-starts when I log in... but that hasn't caused any difficulty (Though it does stop, sometimes, without warning or notification, when I haven't actually lost link but the Cmud icon flashes red).

again, thanks for the help,

~c.

When at the session select screen, before opening any specific MUD.
Hold down the SHIFT key as you open the session.
This resets your layout.
(Yes, this means you have to redock windows if you had made more than one.)
