How do I find what a ProgID is

I'm working with creating a COM application to work with cMUD but i get an error that says invalid ProgID. How would one find out what this information is?
I thought it was the path to the app and the file name but that isn't it... Any suggestions would be helpful.

The ProgID is the human-readable string stored in the Registry that identifies the application. The ProgID for applications are located in the Registry in the HCR section. THis is an over-simplified explanation. However, if you are writing your own applications then you will know what the ProgID will be since you will create it. An example of a ProgiID would be cMUD.Application or cMUDPro.Application.

would establish a COM connection to cMud.
I recommend you read up on COM registration so you get an idea how to locate ProgIDs for applications. It is also the case that most documentation for applications that are exposed to COM will provide the information. |
