is there a way to set an image as the background of a session window or is it stuck being only one color?

It can only be a solid color. When I experimented with having background images it had a severe impact on the speed of your scrolling text. Most MUD players are more concerned with speed rather than making their window look prettier, so I never went through the hassle of trying to support images.
