Help setting up the mapper

I have my whole mud mapped, but I have never been able to make the mapper work with any setting other the fast walk. A script I am working on requires room triggers to work correctly, and to do that I need to be able to walk in slow or safe mode. When I look at the documentations for setting up the mapper everything seems to be set up correctly, but the mapper still loses track of me all of the time. This map was just recently made, and the descriptions in each room for my test group matches the mud verbatim. These are the rooms I am using as a test for mapping.

Code:

The Dusty Road

The way seems somewhat desolate, for there is a lack of trees and brush growing nearby.  Prarie grass is the predominant plant, and it tends to grow more towards the northwest than towards the northeast, which appears somewhat barren and brown from this angle.

[field(very bright): north south]

The Dusty Road

The road itself is wide, or at least was at one point when it was more prominantly used.  Now there is brush and tall grass that has crept in on the edges.  In some locations the plants have overgrown parts of the road, closer to the center.

[field(very bright): north south]

The Dusty Road

Though the road runs towards the east, it curves southward fairly quickly.
To the north the trail does expand on for quite some time.  It is easy to view the area all around, for the land is flat and while there are tall grasses, they do not sprout high enough to obscure view for an average human.

[field(very bright): north east]

In the map preferences I have the following settings.
Code:

When the mapper looses track of you is it in rooms with more than one paragraph in it's description, or perhaps rooms with items on the ground or mobs or people in it?

Turns out it was not the mappers fault at all, there was a missing carriage return which would sometimes cause the name of the room to be on the same line as the prompt.
