'open XXXX' being inserted when i type commands! |
When im typing "w" or "e" or even "look", zMud keeps spitting out "open east" or "open west" above them.
No item being named east or west (ever!) one would wonder why its doing this.
This screws with the auto mapping showing position way out of whack too. |

This has only happened to me when I had the automap open and it showed my current position as a room with a door in it. Then every command you give will be proceded by open coz zMUD think you're trying to open the door. Close the automap to solve it, or move to a room without a door (or just make sure your automap-room is the real room you're in).

Mapping is art rather than science but I do know that you can right-click on the links in your room and make it "Normal" rather than a door (assuming there is no door) and it will go away. Turning off the mapper does seem to be alot quicker. :P

While turning off the mapper may be quicker,
it won't fix your problem in the long run. Take the few more seconds and change the room in the automapper to eliminate the door, so that way, you don't have to turn the mapper OFF every time you walk through the area. It'll save you a much larger headache in the future.

I have noticed that this happens also in my mud. When you have your map open, you might want to select under configuration and under one of the settings i believe it says to not add in doors. There seems to be a large problem with having zmud autofind doors, so once you do that, mapping by walking around won't require you to deselect the door EVERY time that you run across it because I know it happens alot. Hope that helps.
