Pre-release of CMUD 3.21 |
I've run out of time to work on v3.21 this week. I am attending a Drupal conference in Denver this weekend and I won't be back until Tuesday. I am releasing this "pre" version of 3.21 so brave testers can give it a try over the weekend. But I haven't done as much testing with it as I normally do before a release.
In fact, I'm a bit nervous about this one because when I first tested the release, it was giving all sorts of weird errors. When I recompiled it again, these errors mysteriously went away again. So there is something odd going on with this version.
There have been several other low-level changes in this version that might cause problems:
1) The way Preferences are stored and accessed internally was changed to improve performance. Basically getting away from the Delphi Variant datatype which is slow.
2) The Scintilla editor 3rd party component was updated and the SciLexer.DLL was updated to the latest 2.12 version. Since the previous 1.72 version of Scintilla that was previously used in CMUD there were a lot of changes. So be on the lookup for weird stuff in the Script Editor (doesn't effect the Ctrl-Shift-Enter Editor).
3) Lots of changes to the Variable Editor to support the tabs properly and add the JSON tab. Look for problems here too.
Please see the Version History for details on 0ther changes and fixes.
Because I'm nervous about this version I am not updating the "Check for new version" file until next Tuesday. Nor will I update the Download page until then. So for now, you can only get 3.21 via the Links at the end of this post.
Also, be sure to MAKE A BACKUP of your files in case this version has serious problems.
It's been a very stressful week of programming so I hope this version isn't complete crap. Crossing my fingers. Here are the links:

Thanks for your help with the testing. |

Well, it didn't blow up upon running it. So far so good.

Since v3.21 hasn't exploded for anybody yet, I went ahead and updated the links in the Download Page and in the forum announcement. I'll update the "Check for new version" files on Monday when I get back.
