Fairly simple when you get your first one done. I'm guessing you are just looking for a simple one to send a command or string of commands to the MUD. Here's how to so a simple one:
On the toolbar click on the "Buttons" icon. If that's not visible go to Actions->Make Button, or simply hit Ctrl-B.
A window will then open, click on the "New" icon on the top. Under "Caption" type in whatever name you would like to appear on your button. For the sake of this demonstration let's call it "Drink".
In the "Value" field, enter the following commands:
get skin pack
drink water
put skin pack
Click on the green checkmark to save it and close the window.
Now a button will appear at the top of your character window named "Drink". Click the button and you will get your skin, drink skin and put the skin back.
As far as "keeping them on" do you mean saving them? Buttons save in the user settings so if you want to be sure it's saved after you add it, go to Settings->Save and they are saved.
That's all there is to it. Hope that's what you needed.

If you have some in a settings file that you want to export, go back to the button settings window, highlight the ones you want to export and then select file/export text.
You can go to whatever profile you want to import them into and reverse the process, file/import text.
If you want to create or edit them offline, the format is:
#BUTTON X {name} {commands seperated by semicolons}
(actually there are more options but that's the basics.)
So to add your first two buttons it would be:
#BUT 1 {eat} {get meat pack;eat meat}
#BUT 2 {drink} {get skin pack;drink skin;put skin pack}
You can also enter them just like that in the command line. It won't return anything, not even an "OK" but it works.

If someone is offering the script that defines the button then, yes, you can download it off the web. Most likely what you will get is a .MUD file or a simple .txt file that contains the definition of the buttons. To import them into zMUD look at the options under the Settings->Import menu.

I think you may have some misconceptions about all this. I don't think I have ever seen a website with zMUD button scripts. There are some scripts on this site but buttons really are for personal preference type things.
What you need to do is figure what it is you want to make easy for yourself.
Talk to the people on the Mud you play on and see what kind of things they use. Most of them are happy to share scripts. It would be hard for us to point you in the right direction without knowing what you need.
If you do have specific needs for a script, post them and someone here can help.

Like I told you, if you find someone, somewhere that is offering the buttons as a script that can be imported, then you may be able to download them. This is highly unlikely, but since I haven't seen every web page there is on the world wide web, I can't say that they don't exist. Personally, I know not of such website.
