Features request |
There are two very useful things I would like to have while playing my mud:
1. CTRL+SHIFT+TAB to force text TAB-completion on lowercase (my mud doesn't accept uppercase in monster' names and I have to manually edit the tab-completed text when uppercase is involved)
2. The possibility to disable uppercase dirs (S, N, E ...). My guild line command is "S" and when I use it, I don't want to move south on the map. I made an alias to solve this, but I think this feature would be useful. |

1. The tab-completion issue when uppercase is involved is already on the bug/to-do list.
2. If you were able to make an alias for this, then that's good. But it makes this a much lower-priority issue. It's not something that has every been requested before, and as long as there is some way around it, then it's probably not something I'll get around to for a while. I've actually never seen a MUD that is case sensitive for direction commands before, so it's definitely unusual. |

What about NannyMUD, "one of the oldest original LPMud still around"? |

Never actually heard of that one before. Isn't 3Kingdoms the oldest LPMud? Not that I would know anything about LPMuds since I mostly play Diku/Merc-based MUDs.

Genesis is the original LPMud but it doesn't use case-sensitivity as I recall.

Well, I cited from the official description. It doesn't say it's the oldest but one of the oldest. The Swedish guys are modest is seems.
From the info on the www.topmudsites.com:
Year created:
Genesis: 1989
NannyMUD: 1990
3Kingdoms: 1992 |

Actually if you look at my addition to the REGEX documentation you will find a way to make triggers case sensitive.
Then make some command input triggers using #NOMAP |
