Random Zmud-crashes in winXP

Lately my Zmud 6.22 seems to crash rather randomly without giving any errormessages to explain it. (Everything else works just fine with my XP btw) Anyone else have this problem. Installing 6.16 and hoping it will solve it. Also - there isn't by any chance a registry zmud cleanup program available? I've had access violations since I started using zmud and regularly reinstall it because of it, but not all seems to be cleared from the registry, so perhaps some of the trouble stays there..?

I've had numerous crashes myself on two different systems. Both Win98SE. Happens when I'm running a hunting script. Other than that, I have no idea what the problem is.

Post this question in the Beta forum, if you are using zMUD 6.22.

As a hint, it could be a problem with #ONINPUT triggers, I've just reported a bug there which will crash zMUD if you make a trigger which outputs something on which it triggers again.

The normal procedure to find out why zMUD is crashing, is to start a new character without any triggers/aliases etc, and import them bit by bit until you find out which ones are causing the problem, if any.

It could also be just a corrupt settings file (zMUD saves everything in files, not the registry), so exporting to a text file and importing to a new character could also solve that.

Please try and find out exactly when the Access Violations occur, as if these are bugs we'd like to fix them :)

Colbrand: Which script? Please post to the beta forum!

Unfortunately, I do not have access to that forum (according to the message when I tried to go there first).

The error message is
EConvertError in module ZMUD.EXE at 0000A3AA.
Invalid argument to time encode.

It may have something to do with when a critter says something while I'm hunting, which I normally capture to a separate window.

Thanks, Lady C. I'll try your suggestions now.

And when do you get the error message? When doing what? :)

Go to the main 'Forums' page, there is a link to 'zMUD Beta forum application', click that and fill it out.

Ok, I tried the impatient route, and imported all the settings into a brand new character icon. Didn't help.

Here's the latest. After scripting for about 55 minutes, the tick timer went to -0-, and I got an error that reads:
Error parsing: @VActionNew
Message: Invalid argument to time encode

Shouldn't be time encoding that variable at all. It's curious that things run fine for almost an hour, and then that crops up. There was nothing out of the ordinary going on when the message came up either. And I intentionally turned off my "thought-net" and triggers for speech to make sure it wasn't a sound trigger conflicting with something else (those are the only things that have sounds).
