Session Recovery

Well, Ive done something horribly wrong with my scripting....
I cant open my session it just load a silver screen and pretty much freezes, on or offline load...

I remember on zmud you could open you .mud files in text and look at em like that...

is tehre any way of doing that now? in cmud. I didnt have a backup of my script.

thanks

Have you tried the layout reset yet? From the session window, hold down shift and click Open Offline. If the windows come back enough for you to work within the session, your packages should be alright enough to find the potential problem.

You couldn't really open your zMUD *.MUD files...they are in a binary format, not a text format.

In CMUD, we use a standard SQLITE database format for the *.PKG files. So you should be able to Google for a free SQLITE Admin program that would allow you to open the PKG file and extract your script data.

The CMUD Beta version has more extensive "auto backup" features, but even the 2.37 version should have a backup of your packages. Typically the filenames are packagename_bak.pkg in the same directory as your regular package files.

Finally, definitely follow Matt's advice on using the SHIFT key to open your session.
