Multiple Zone Exits, Single Destination |
I have three seperate zones in the mapper which correspond to three seperate areas on my mud. All three have exits whose destination is the same room in a fourth zone.
Ie,
Code: |
ZoneAExit ZoneBExit ZoneCExit
|__________|________|
|
ZoneDDest
|
In Zones A, B, and C the exit is 'Down', so I need to link each to the Zone D room's 'Up' link. To further complicate matters, going 'Up' from ZoneDDest should take me to Zone A, but not Zones B and C.
I'm at a loss on how to actually go about doing this. Is this even possible with Cmud? |

It's easy, but tedious. Essentially, it's just one normal up-down pair along with 2 one-way down exits.
1)take note of D's room number
2)from D, go UP to A to create A. Go back down to complete the process.
3)navigate to B (you can do this via the mapper, rather than actually moving your character there, if you already have it mapped)
4)on the Exits Tab of the Room Properties window, right-click on the table with the list of exits and select New Link
5)with this new link highlighted, press the # button and assign D's room number (the To field should then show D's name, and possibly will draw a link line to Room D's location).
6)press the One Way button to remove the corresponding exit from D.
7)Press the Down button in the From compass to assign it to this link (the down arrow next to the room box on the map will then appear).
8)go back to step 3 to repeat the process for C |

You're my hero, thanks Matt. I didn't realize you could just link to any arbitrary room number with that dialog :)
Anyway, works great. Thanks again. |
