[Fixed] [3.09] Map doesn't track when I move around |
If I use the keypad to move around it doesn't track my movements on the map anymore.
It is recognizing the movement command (I can see it added to the walk queue in the bottom right of the map window).
However, it is never recognizing that I've completed the movement. Even if I execute '#ok' manually to get it to update it never completes the movement.
However, it does update if I execute a slow walk by double-clicking on the map and letting it execute the walk for me. |

Please check the normal issues:
1) Use #LOC to see what the current location in your session is set to
2) Check to see that this location is set in the mapper window
3) Try using the "#TRACK locname" command to force the proper location to be tracked in the window
4) ALWAYS ALWAYS mention what speedwalk mode you are in (Fast, Safe, Slow). Does changing the speedwalk mode do anything?
5) Have you tried doing a Config/Reconfigure to reconfigure the mapper. Since the previous version was not properly saving mapper configurations, you might need to reconfigure.
6) If you click on the map window to refresh it, or change zones to a different zone and then back again, does it display the correct location (useful to see if it's just a screen/map refresh issue)
That is a list of steps that EVERYONE should be trying first before reporting any mapper problems. |

If this is something you can reproduce every time, please send me your map database also. But first try resetting your window layout (the SHIFT key trick) since the crash above is coming from the window docking system for some reason. Looks like it was trying to update the name of the current room in the docked mapper window and there was a problem with the length of the room name or something. But I'd need more information on how to reproduce this. I'm not getting any problem with any of my maps or packages.
It's also possible you have some corrupted Location objects or Map Database objects from previous beta versions. Might be time to export/import your settings into a fresh package file. |

Resetting the window layout fixed it.
Now that things are working better I can give it a run through to see if I can spot any other issues. Thanks for your help Zugg! |

Oddly enough it started happening again. Almost as if something is corrupting the layout settings on a regular basis. This is probably connected with another of the layout corruption bugs that seems to be present in this version.

I believe this also associated with the double map object issue. Resolved with changes to importing in 3.10.
