navigation in a mud |
this is a general mudding question..
How do you not get lost in a MUD that has no map? Am i missing something? |

Probably a question better asked to the MUD you're playing, instead of here, since that question can have several answers.
Try asking there. Otherwise, I'd assume experience, or people creating their own maps using CMUD or zMUD's mapper.

Well that depends on what you mean by no map. I'm going to assume you mean either no CMUD map of your own, or no in-game map display.
The answer is that it's very difficult. I personally always got lost and eventually gave up on MUDs before I found zMUD. It can be done if you have a really good memory, if you are willing to draw the maps by hand (old school D&D effort) or you get a client like the amazing CMUD that has additional functionalities like a visual map display, and an automapper to help you create one.
