Hello,
I've mentioned these items before but thought it was worth it to try again since you are considering a public version soon.
- The toolbars in the Session Window don't save once the window is closed.
- It would be REALLY nice to have sessions "grayed" out after a certain time period as set by editing a session in the Session Window and choosing the 'Numbers of day since last connected to mark character as old' as ZMUD had. I am aware I can sort characters by date, but it REALLY isn't the same at all. This is EXTREMELY useful for visually-oriented people when playing a mud when you have a very large amount of characters to keep track of so they don't auto-delete.
I understand this items aren't really top priority, but I think the toolbar problem is probably a good one to address though since it is kind of the face of CMUD once you open it.
Thanks! |

How does the toolbar for the session window not save? Mine does. I can make any changes to it and it saves.

It does? I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person with this problem, I have seen posts to it in the past. I am using 3.08 beta on a Win XP box. I have tried numerous times to save the toolbars and nothing I have found has worked. I have created new toolbars, and added the default ones (Toolbar, Mud Toolbar, Edit Toolbar, and Mud Connector Toolbar). Every time I close CMUD or even the Sessions window the toolbars disappear. If you can think of a step besides just right clicking and adding them in that I am not doing right, please let me know. I have also messed around with locking layouts, saving the default layout, etc to try to get it to take. Any help would be appreciated.

Actually, the toolbar of the Session window is *not* saved, so I'm not sure how Charneus is getting this to work. Maybe Charneus is thinking about the main toolbar for your session and not the toolbar of the actual Session popup window.
But yes, that toolbar is not saved. I'll add that to the to-do list for the future, but probably not for the next public version. Yes, it's the "face" that people see when they first open CMUD, but I haven't even documented how to customize toolbars yet, so it's not something that novice users are going to encounter.
As far as "graying out" icons...the problem is that the Windows ListView component that I'm using doesn't support that. zMUD used a kludge where an old icon was marked as "cut" in the icon view. But this doesn't work well in the more modern ListView components used in XP and Vista, so that feature got removed. So this isn't going to get added back to CMUD any time soon, sorry. |

Yeah, I was thinking of the main toolbar, not the session one. My mistake.
Never really messed with session toolbar customization, either. Just haven't had a need for it yet. :P
