[3.06] Text not resizing to match rest with Windows font scaling |
The text at the bottom of the mapper doesn't seem to scale like other text in CMud usually does to match Windows Font Scaling (the one on Vista in Control Panel -> Ease of Access Center -> Make the computer easier to see -> Make things on the screen larger -> Change the size of text and icons), it stays tiny when the screen is set to high resolution (in my case 1920x1440) while the rest of the text is relatively normal size - this screenshot shows it pretty well, top versus bottom
not a major bug but does mean the room names/descriptions are sometimes hard to make out/easy to misread
edit: SORRY this is 3.06, not 3.07, I should have checked properly first sorry, I just assumed I had the latest version because it was a fresh install - I think it's likely I'll have the same problems since it doesn't say fixed in the version history, if it does fix it I'll post back here in an hour or so if not it's still broken ( :( ) |

That is correct. In general, CMUD does not support anything other than the standard 96dpi default window font sizes. This is an issue with the Delphi development system used to create CMUD (and zMUD) and is not easy to fix. It's also partly related to how Windows itself handles the font DPI setting. Windows resizes the font, but doesn't resize any other controls that might contain the text. So it's up to the application to make more space for text, etc. I have designed the GUI in CMUD to work with small font size changes, but the larger you set the font, the more problems you will have with text being cut off.
In any case, this has been a problem in zMUD for years, and will continue to be a problem in CMUD. There are just too many other higher priority issues to deal with in CMUD, especially since fixing this issue is a huge and very time consuming job. |
