[3.06] Issues with styles |
1) In the PE choose New->New style. Note the strange combo of filter buttons on the Filter toolbar.
2) Locations and Directions are not shown in the PE, but they are accessible from the "View" menu. Styles are buried a way deeper than other non-displayed settings. Additional item to "View" or "Options" CMUD main menu seems reasonable for me. |

1) Hmm, very odd, but confirmed and added to bug list.
2) Directions, Locations, and Styles are all shown in the View/Show sub menu. Unless you delete your SETTINGS.TBZ file, all new menu items that get added in new versions will show up at the bottom of your existing menus (to preserve any customization you might have done). Delete that file and you will get the default menu layout. But I don't see any difference in the menu location between Directions, Locations, and Styles...they are all in the same submenu. You can customize your menu to put them anywhere you want, to put them in the main filter toolbar, etc. You have full control over customizing your menus and toolbars. |

2) Ahh.. I forgot about Editor's menu and was talking about CMUD main menu... Yes, now when PE preserves its customization, I can customize its menu. But have you tried to customize the Filter toolbar with icons for styles, directions, locations? They are vertically aligned with text description on the left side.

When you are in menu customization mode, you can right-click on a filter button to toggle the caption text off and on. Just turn it off and it should work like the other filter buttons.
You are meant to edit styles in the normal Preferences/Styles screen rather than the package editor. So clicking on the menu for "Colors" or "Fonts" in the Options menu is still the normal place to go. That's why there isn't anything added for Styles in the main screen View menu.
Although now that I look at the main Preferences/Styles screen, there isn't any way to add a New style to the list, so I have added that to the to-do list and I might add a menu item for "User Styles" that automatically goes to this part of the preferences and auto-expands and selects the user styles area. |
