Network: Proxy server preferences panel |
I'm just checking that the following preference panel is as intended and apologise if I've already asked this.
I guess it's fairly self explanatory it just looks a little odd is all. |

Yep, that's how it is supposed to look. What looks "odd"?

Just that it's usual to have the label and the field entry next to each other, which is how you do it in all the other preference panels. The entry fields probably do look neater lined up together. Also it's slightly odd that WWW Proxy has no radio button unlike everything else but I guess if filled in it does a global override.

The WWW Proxy doesn't have a radio button because it isn't used for *session* proxies, but is used for web access for things like the Help Updates, Package Library, etc. Now it's true that these functions don't use this proxy information yet. In fact, the only thing that currently uses it is the "check for new version" feature. But that's why it's separate from the session proxy settings.
And yeah, the labels were split like that to just make the input boxes line up a bit nicer. It's actually left over from the zMUD screen design, and it might be something I need to update. You are correct that it's a bit "non-standard". |

In what way? By the fact it doesn't have a radio button? I don't think this is immediately obvious that it's separate from the "session proxy settings" by which I take it you mean the SOCKS or Telnet proxy settings.

It's purely cosmetic and not at all functional and I'd imagine looks better the way it is, I just wanted to check it was meant to be that way and now that I know it is I don't think it's something that warrants any attention. |
