Discrepancy in default setting for SCROLLING |
If you don't specify scrolling with #MXP <FRAME> or #MAKEWINDOW the default is NO. However, if you create the window using the Settings Editor, there is no way to specify scrolling, and it defaults you YES. I would be nice if one where able to specify the scrolling when creating the window with the Editor. Short of that, I think that the scrolling for manually created windows should default to NO to be consistent.

I'll add the option to the window properties in the future.
But the reason the defaults are different is because #windows and MXP Frames are really used for completely different purposes. The #WINDOW (#MAKEWINDOW, #CAPTURE, etc) is typically used for capturing text (like for a Tells window) and you normally want scrolling enabled for that. The MXP Frame command is typically used to create a fixed size window for various status information, image map, game map, etc, and typically you want scrolling disabled for that. So there's a reason behind the difference in default. |
