2.37 - #slow not working on new install of CMUD

#slow .ewe

sends "ewe" as a raw command to the mud, rather than "e"

This is a fresh install of CMUD 2.37 to win xp service pack 3, on my laptop. The #slow command works as expected on my main PC.

I've checked the special chars in preferences, and reset them to defaults. THe movement char field seems to be empty, though its hard to tell as the colon from the label for each is actually in the field itself, and it could just be covering up the period that ought to be there. Still, I also tried to delete whatever was in that field and put in a period . just in case.

Does anyone have any hints?

Were you trying in a new session? Double check your English Directions and English Keypad packages are loaded.
