CMUD runs on Windows 7 |
Like the name states, I'm beta testing Windows 7 and able to use cMUD on it perfectly.

Great, thanks very much for letting me know. I don't plan to get any Windows 7 systems anytime soon (unless Microsoft makes it a free upgrade from Vista to apologize for the Vista mess...yeah, wishful thinking).
I'd also be interested in knowing how zMUD works or not on Windows 7 if you are willing to test that too. My guess is that it will have the same problems as on Vista, but you never know if they improved compatibility or not. |

Tested speed-wise and CTRL-Q is bringing up times between 3.5 and 5.1 for the most part on cMUD 3.03. Not entirely sure how fast my laptop was getting with Vista but I believe slower than that.
Laptop Specs:
Intel Core 2 Dup T7200
2 GB RAM @ 667 mhz
7200 RPM HD
As for zMUD yes it indeed seems to be like Vista, it runs but only when I tell it to run as an administrator. |

Already mentioned this sort of in another topic. :)
There really shouldn't be much difference between the two, as Windows 7 is essentially Vista 2.0. The one thing I noticed so far, and I haven't done any thorough testing, is that CMUD takes slightly longer to load up for me than it did in Vista. This could very well be because I'm testing the 64-bit version, or because of something with Windows 7 being in beta.
As for Windows 7 itself, I think the main thing a lot of people will get from it is that their programs that ran in XP and not Vista should be able to run in Windows 7. Installed a program that wouldn't run at all in Vista and it works fine. I read that compatibility was something they really worked on for this. |
