Wow, totally strange. The mapper just suddenly started working on it's own.

Too afraid to restart CMud incase it stops working altogether.

The ONLY thing I did recently was install the 5 new updates from Microsoft that popped up tonight, but i didn't need to restart the pc.

However, I just recently developed yet another problem with the mapper.

Example, room 28114, it has the room description in it, but my trigger isn't working. (Not the room trigger, another trigger)

Reload room information from Action isn't fixing it.

I tried to copy/paste the room text, and that's not working either.

The alias is as follows:

ckwords2=""
~'ckstart
#T+ 'ckroom'
#var ckWords {%subregex( %lower(%roomdesc( )), "'|\s+", " ")}
#var ckWords {%subregex( @ckWords, "\W+", "|")}
#delitem ckWords {}
#fo (@ckWords) {ssearch %i}
~'ckend

It works in other rooms, but I have ran across a few where for some reason, it just won't work.

Any ideas?

I'll keep you posted on whether or not this mapper problem continues, but unless you need me to restart CMud, I don't plan on it just yet.

This should probably go into a separate topic.

First thing I would check is whether what %roomdesc returns matches the actual description you see. Room descriptions can sometimes be messed up while mapping, especially if extraneous lines accidentally get displayed in the middle.

To figure this one out, we'll need the text description of the room which it doesn't work on, and maybe one that it does work on.

Siighh.... CMud really hates me...

i went to the room to test the %roomdesc, and it showed the full room desc. So i tried my alias, and of course, it's working.

I didn't change anything.. In fact, after I wrote that note, I went to bed and haven't used cmud since then.

I have no idea how to explain these gremlins. The ~only~ program that's acting up is CMud, all my other programs are happy.

Thanks btw.

It's back to not enterring directions again.

CMud crashed, I had to restart it, and now when I use #walk, it fails.

So, I was playing around, trying to figure out why this is all happening, and this is what I've found out.

I logged in my main session, broken. It was working fine last restart.
Logged in the test one I made that wasn't working last time, it's working fine for some reason.
Logged in/out of main/test repeatedly to see what I could find different, if maybe I changed something, all of a sudden, the test one is sending the group of directions to the mud... and I didnt' change a single thing.

This is getting frustratingly annoying. I sure hope you can track this down.

By the way, is your map object in your main session package, or have you moved it to another package? This might make a difference, since some other odd problems are cropping up when the mapper is in a different package.

I did include it into the second account I made to try and get it working there.. that's when it started acting funny on the second one. But until that point, it was only on my main session

Just curious to know if you've found out anything on this problem Zugg? I mailed you my map file, but haven't heard anything in quite some time.

Currently, #walk (loc) will give me 2 dirs(so like ne e) and then
w2nenwunene2s2e2s2w2s3w2n2w2nuw2nenwnwn2wn2wsun2wnwnwnw2nuk3s3u
out
2j5nh2n2j2nw
portal
3ene2nen

to which the mud responds by moving to directions, and then
What?
What?
What?
What?
What?

Makes no sense, because the first 2 dirs are always correct, whether or not they're N|E|W|S or NW|SW|NE|SE
However, all succeeding directions are short, j|h|k etc
