Click and hold on incomplete link drags room, not connect link |
When I click on a link that had been created, but not yet connected to another room, when I click and hold on the link to drag it to the room at the proper spot to connect the 2 rooms, it will drag the room instead that the link was created from. What needs to be done to fix this issue?

You aren't clicking the link, it's a lot harder to now select the link compared to zmud, but I believe this problem is going to be resolved with later releases of the mapper

Mmm, I'm fairly sure this bug has been reported. As a workaround, for now, you can rclick on the link and pick "Relink link" or you can go into the room properties and, on the exits tab, click either the blue # symbol to link to a room's vnum, or click the black bar to get the same effect as the rclick menu option.

You mention about right clicking on the link, but there again, when right clicking on it, it assumes that I'm right clicking on the room rather than on the link when I'm clearly not even pointing on the room at all. As for the other options, I been using the blue pound sign (#) to get around the issue even though it's such a long way round about it. Normally, I do have room properties visible, but on the "Text" tab as there has been cases when the text doesn't go into the description properly, so I would have to make the adjustments as needed. Using the blue pound sign and licking on the proper link points along with any other exit properties as needed however seems to be about the most sure way to get the links set properly. Now, if both ends of a link is connected to a room, then clicking on the link does select the link, but why does it only work in that case and not in the case when only one end is connected to a room, that's what I don't get.

It does actually work. You have to select the link tool first. Then when you place the cursor next to the room it will change to indicate which direction to start the link from. Clicking there will pickup the first exit out of the room on that direction, or create a new stub, for you to attach to a destination. It will always select the first outgoing link, so it may select an already established link for reassignment.

Yeah, this issue is already fixed in the latest 3.03 beta version of CMUD with the new mapper.
