[2.37] error: IDirectSoundBuffer not made

Since the last update my sounds (only the Cmud sounds: #play and #beep things) sometimes suddenly stop during the use of Cmud. When this happens I do not get any error messages until I close the program. At quiting Cmud I get the following bug. I quoted a part of the bug report because somehow emailing it doesn't work.

What version of Windows are you using? You shouldn't edit out the top part of the crash dump since that includes important information. Just remove your personal details like your computer name, but leave all of the stuff about your version of Windows, memory available, etc.

I haven't seen this problem with sounds before. Do you have any other program using the sound card at the same time as CMUD? Have you run a graphical game that uses DirectX and then had the problem with CMUD afterwards? (some games leave DirectX in a messed up state that can cause problems).

If you can provide a step-by-step procedure for reproducing this error, it would help a lot.

I can't say I haven't had any website, messenger or orther windows thing making any sounds during the Cmud sessions. Probably some other programs use the soundcard as well while I am in Cmud. Only thing I can say though is that at the moment the sound crashes no other (not from Cmud) sounds are playing.

No.

It does not happen all the time. And I haven't come up with any ideas yet about what actions within Cmud or things outside Cmud could be related. I'll try to find anything. If I do I will add it to this thread.

The whole error log:

Not sure what to suggest. If you could narrow it down to a specific sound file you are playing that might be causing the trouble, that would help. You might also check to see if there are any updated Vista drivers for your sound card.

Have you tried the sound diagnostic in dxdiag? Check the audio tab there if there are any warnings. What sound card do you have?

Well I have done some investigation and I am lead to believe that this problem is not caused by Cmud. I read on the internet that many people who have the same laptop as I use, have trouble with their sound when using directx. It has to be some sort of driver issue that now pops up in Cmud as well. Must be coincidence that I never noticed it in previous versions of Cmud.
