HTTPS

Changing to the secure protocol causes 2 problems.

1. No certificate yet, it lists www.zuggsoft.com as the certificate holder

2. https://www.slightlymorbid.com actually displays the Zuggsoft homepage

Yes, I don't have a certificate yet. That is part of the work with the ecommerce stuff that I'm doing today and tomorrow. So don't worry about that stuff yet.

I finally received the new SSL certificate for www.slightlymorbid.com today, only to realize that you cannot run two different SSL certificates on Virtual Hosts on the same IP address. So now I've requested a second IP address for this server and will have to wait until that is ready to go.

When we switch IP addresses, it's possible there will be an interruption in service, especially if you have something cached. I'll probably leave the virtual host entries in the existing zuggsoft.com server until there has been enough time for everything to switch to the new IP address.

That is, assuming I can get a second IP address for the server. I don't think that is hard, but I haven't done it before.

Usually it's just a phone call/email.

Some fraction of allocated IP's are supposed to be demonstrably in use for something, but that's usually retroactive (if you've asked for one and let it sit there unused for years they might say something). Anyway, you've got the usual factors in your favor- established business, new domain and SSL cert, etc.

Or do you mean whether it's difficult to set up a single machine to work with two IP's on the same subnet?

SSL certificate is installed and the new IP address of slightlymorbid.com is active. All pages on SlightlyMorbid should now be in secure SSL mode. If you enter the site URL without the https then as soon as you select any other pages, it will switch to https SSL mode.

Let me know if you find any problems with SSL certificate or anything like that.

I've modified the .htaccess for the site so that all non-SSL URLs are converted to https SSL URLs. Let me know if you see any trouble with this change.

(before it only changed to SSL mode after you clicked on a link on the site. Now it redirects the URL if you enter just www.slightlymorbid.com right away)
