Zmud 7.21 slow response |
I use the latest version of zmud, and use XP Pro. Have lots of CPU speed and RAM to play with, but zmud has started to really drag. It is getting very slow on the screen, commands have about a 3.5 second delay. And the screen scrolls realllllyy slow. Any ideas as to what I can do to pick it back up?

Click the trigger icon (the pistol, in the lower right of the game window) to disable triggers. If this instantly speeds everything back to normal, you have a broken trigger somewhere and really the only way to fix that is to turn everything off and re-enable them one-by-one until things get slow again.

If it wasn't always like this (and assuming you eliminated network lag as the culprit) you probably have some errant or poorly written scripts that are causing the slow down. Try disabling all trigger, then re-enabling them one by one to see where the culprit is.
Couple of things you can do is avoid triggers that start with '*' or have a lot of wild cards for them. A good rule of thumb for triggers is the more specific they are the faster they'll run.
If you notice the problem mostly when the mapper is open, you can try compacting it to see if that helps. |
