configure autmapper label |
Hello
I want to configure automapper to automatically slap a label in Middle on new (and old) rooms it created.
The label will be first two letters of the room name abbreviation. I scoured the manual but don't see how to control the label.
thanks |

What do you mean by label? Also, an example of this "label" would be useful.

With the map in map mode click the the 'A' between the pointer icon, and the exit link icon.
That will let you add a generic Label, which is what I believe Shompol means. |

Those labels aren't attached to anything and therefore cannot be moved at all. It sounds more like he's talking about the right-click option that allows you to set the user string for the room. Not only is it attached to the room and therefore will move when you move the room, but you can choose the position relative to the room (including putting it in the middle of the room.)
To my knowledge, this can't be scripted or preferenced. |

Matt is correct, there is no way to script this or automatically enable it for new rooms. I'll add that to the wish-list for the new mapper.
What you *should* be able to do in the current mapper is to select a bunch of rooms, then go to the Room Properties and set the location of the room label in the Appearance tab. I think that option works for setting multiple rooms at once. |

Nope, it's one-room-only still.

The new mapper handles setting properties of multiple rooms for *all* properties, so this should get easier.

Do you still have that funky room-focus issue in the new mapper, Zugg? With the current mapper, if you
1)select one room
2)deselect it (I did so merely by left-clicking on non-roomspace, if that's important to know)
3)multi-select a different set of rooms that excludes that first room
4)choose/apply some property setting (ie, adding a label)
You'll find that none of the currently-selected rooms has that property applied to them, and instead it's the room you selected in step 1. More of an amusing curiosity for me... |

Nope, it's completely rewritten so it doesn't have that side-effect anymore. You multi-select the rooms and then modify the property and click Save and it will prompt for confirmation (change properties of N rooms?) and then change the properties of the selected rooms. The new room properties is smarter and it knows what properties you have changed since the last save. So you can select any combination of properties and clicking Save applies just the changed properties to the selected rooms.
If it still doesn't work properly in the new version, definitely post a bug report. |
