Feature Request

Bad Idea

Not sure if this is a good spot to place this, if there is a better forum, let me know.

Anyhow, I was curious if there was a way the client could detect mouse over a particular window to give focus there, I know Windows has some issues with this already, I've found some tools that make this work in Windows the way I like, but it does not seem to carry over to this client.

If I mouse over my chat windows, to scroll up or down with the mouse wheel, I have to click in the window first. The same goes for the Main window if I've given focus to another.

I know this is likely a issue that can't be addressed easily if at all, but thought it would be worth suggesting.

Thanks,
Royel

It may be doable... but this is something where Zugg would have to balance the needs of other users...

I for one would be against it. If moving the mouse automatically give that window focus it would break a lot of scripts and possibly wreak havoc. Remember alot of scripting (and where commands get sent) depends on the execution context and which window has focus. By doing this I get can commands issued to other windows not intended or change where I had out put displayed. This discussing and hashed out in great detail in earlier version. Also macro may behave different depending on which window has focus. If my mouse is over the mapper window then it would have the focus so when I execute my delete key macro I may be deleting a room instead of kicking of the the death spell I intended.

Ultimately it's up to Zugg to decide, but I'm against it; and given the implications, I'm inclined to think he'll agree.

Never thought about the side effects this would cause. I guess I assumed that all the commands were sent to the same place and therefore it would make no difference, but to hear you explain it, sounds like it could get ugly.

I see I can edit the original post out, so lets call it a bad request and forget it.
