Not readable symbols

At loading version 2.30 mud asked: By what name do you wish to be known?

At loading version 2.35 asks By what name do you wish to be known? I and * 381; 6 and * 175; I and * 381; 6 " QtquK MUpqtU a check point qn'wI-NF'qn'w,) FR+nR and * 339; ' X wL./R and * 178; Hf @ " V and VEn I

What is it? How to clean not readable symbols?

What the...I've never had it ask me anything like that when loading Cmud. Where does it ask that? Sounds like you are registering for a MUD.

I have it too and its like if you look really fast you can see the text move/change.

when I start my computer and log into my mud Aardwolf I normal only see
1 or 2 lines of symbols but if I later restart cmud I can get up to 6-8 lines
of symbols.

And my Telnet option is enabled in the Session page.

You mean this is after you connect to your MUD or when you launch the actual program CMUD?

Yes you are surprisingly ingenious.:) certainly after connection with one of Mud...
Interestingly when you load program CMUD at you asks nickname:)
I have specified two distinctions in version 2.30 and the subsequent versions..
Also has asked why after updating CMUD they have appeared..

Well there is a big difference between "loading" or launching a program and "connecting" to your MUD. You said, "At loading version 2.35 asks By what name do you wish to be known?" It asks no such question when you load or launch CMUD.

It sounds to me like a problem with the MUD itself or you are sending something to the mud once you connect and it takes you to the registration process instead of logging in with username and password, which is where you normally see the "By what name do you wish to be known?" question.

For example, when someone connects to Imperian they see the following:

Quote:
1. Enter the game.
2. Create a new character.
3. Quit.

Enter an option or enter your character's name.

Sounds like your package is doing something like sending number 2 to the mud upon connecting, which in this case would take you straight to the character creation process where again you normally see questions like "By what name do you wish to be known?" followed by "What race would you like to be?" and so on.

Hmm... I can not inform up to you a problem in any way..
Well...
1. Version 2.30 CMUD
After connection with mine MUD the client receives the first screen in which asks your name:
By what name do you wish to be known?

2. Version 2.35 CMUD
After connection with mine MUD the client receives the first screen in which asks your name:
By what name do you wish to be known? and * 381; 6 and * 175; I and * 381; 6 " QtquK MUpqtU a check point qn'wI-NF'qn'w,) FR+nR and * 339; ' X wL./R and * 178; Hf @ " V and VEn I

That is in version 2.35 there were not readable symbols... As them to eliminate..

You have understood a question?
You understand a difference in two versions?

I'm guessing that somehow the MCCP is being overloaded. Try turning it off.

Preferences
Session, Emulation tab
Uncheck [] MUD Compression (MCCP)

I have not seen any MCCP issues using 2.35 myself.

Yes, this bug is present in CMUD 2.35. I've found it by accident.

For me it can be reproduced quite easily.

1) Launch CMUD, wait for Sessions window
2) Double-click on a session icon. It will launch normally.
3) Immediately select in CMUD menu File\Disconnect and then File\Close window. CMUD will show the Sessions window.
4) Double click the same icon again. When MUD will send you its greetings screen and asks "By what name...", there will a system sound like if you are trying to enter some text to a windows control without input focus and garbage characters will be shown on screen.

Session setting are the same that normal package has.

Now, I can't guarantee that you can repeat this on your MUD, so...

Please give me the hostname and port of the MUD you are trying to connect to so that I can test this from here. I'm not able to get any problem with any of the MUDs that I play.

I try to connect slothmud.org 6101 and
The problem appears if the option is included:
1. Show information messages
2. MXP/HTML

Heh, the same MUD. But I do not see any garbage characters at connect in 2.36. Have you tried it?

it looks like these garbage is sent by CMUD, not received.
With "Autolog" option enabled i get "wrong password" from the mud Rolling Eyes

It looks like you may have corrupted data stored for the session. Edit the session and re-enter the name and password on the Auto-Login tab to make sure you have valid data there.

I doubt it, Tech, because in 2.35 CMUD show garbage characters even for newly created test session. And I'll say again that I do not have (yet?) any problems with this issue in current 2.36 version (do not know how it for others).
