Hidden room directions
 
I'm not sure how to begin working on this, so I'll put the problem out there and hope for some ideas. The situation occurs when speedwalking using the mapper: There are hidden room directions (they're not listed in the exit window output), and if you go in that direction you start swimming. Once in the water, sometimes you stay in that room, sometimes you float to another room (then another...). Eventually you get spit out on the shore and are now lost.

There are probably a few things that can be done but I'm not sure what the most efficient solution would be or where to start. Ultimately, I'd like to avoid going in that direction in the first place, but I haven't figured out how to set up a trigger to fix the problem. The room output doesn't change until after you've climbed into the water, and the mapper stops following you once you're in the water. Adding the rooms and connections would work, but how to do that with the auto mapper? Recognizing the hidden exits before jumping in the water so that a command can be set up preventing movement in that direction seems like a good solution, but is that going to put a hitch in the speedwalking?

I've played several muds that include swimming or flying, and just dealt with getting lost, but it's a total drag and I'd like to work on a fix. I hunted around but couldn't find a solution (that doesn't mean there isn't already one out there). If anyone knows of any previous post(s) they could point me to or if anyone has any ideas for a solution I would be incredibly grateful.

To prevent movement in a direction, set the Do Not Enter flag on the room the link leads to. Job done.

I'm not sure what you mean by the rest of it.

Setting the flag has no effect. Does it need to be used in conjunction with some other command?

Nope, it should just work - I just tested it in the untitled session by creating three rooms linked in a straight line, with the middle on set as Do Not Enter. Then I put myself in one of the end rooms and double-clicked on the other one. The walk failed.
