Lost editor |
Somehow or other, the edit box disappeared for settings (aliases, triggers...). I'm not sure how I managed that, and now I can't seem to bring it back. The window is docked with the mapper. I closed the mapper and the settings window, then opened just one of the settings (triggers) but still can't expand the window to show the editor box. It doesn't appear to be a matter of finding the right spot with the mouse.
Thanks for any help. Editing all my aliases, triggers... using the command line will take forever (and get me killed ;-) )! |

In the Settings Editor, go to View -> Panels and make sure the Editor Panel is checked.

Hmmm... I'm not seeing any 'panels' option listed in the view menu with the exception of 'Show Class Panel'.

Tech was thinking this was the CMUD forum, and he's way off base on this one. Have you tried double-clicking one of the settings in the settings editor? This might bring the editor window back up. Sometimes, it gets undocked, and it can be finicky to mess around with.
Also, do you perchance happen to have the settings editor where it stays on top? The editor window could have opened behind it, but you'd never know because of the stay on top function. To see if this is the case, click the little pin shaped icon on the title bar (over by the X to close it out). That could solve your problem, too.

There's a section in zmud.ini that's to do with the position of various windows, iirc, and you can delete that section (or just the entire file if you've not made any changes that affect the ini) to restore the defaults.

Don't even have to delete anything. Tech was on the right path, but the menu is on the main menubar and says something about Reset Windows. There's an option there to limit the reset to the Settings Editor.

Thanks for all the replies. I had to reset all windows, then dock the settings and settings editor, then open and dock maps. Now all is as was... I think!
Thanks again. |
