That's a good point, actually - there used to be an icon next to the MUD name, but it's gone now.
The easy way to tell, though, is that when you type something, nothing happens. |

Options->General->Network On the Connection tab, ensure "Show connection timer" is enabled.
Now when you're connected there's a timer on your status bar and if you're not the timer disappears |
