[2.25] when a new paragraph is received it focuses on the main window

every time I move room while speedwalking it focuses on the main window away from whatever I am doing, making it impossible to edit triggers change options etc (which is what I usually do while speedwalking) - if i have the map selected and am trying to zoom in and out with the mousewheel, as soon as the mud receives more text it makes the mousewheel start scrolling text in the main window instead - anyone know how to fix this?

I am not sure what happened, it just suddenly started to do this. I have tried turning on and off the likely-looking option in options > general >> user interface > window options > "automatically bring to front window with activity" but to no avail

please please anyone help me this is really annoying :(

Is the mapper docked? Have you tried undocking it? Which CMUD version are you using?

Just to clarify it's not only when speedwalking, when the MUD main window receives new text it seems to do it too

makes it completely impossible to use the editor, edit triggers, change options, use map while any of that is going on :(

This is normal. The mapper in CMUD was directly ported from zMUD and doesn't work perfectly with the new windowing system used in CMUD. The mapper is being rewritten later this year to fix some of these issues. But in general, whenever the MUD sends something to CMUD, CMUD is going to focus the main MUD window.

But it should only be taking focus away from the mapper and not the settings editor. If you are editing a trigger in the settings editor, then it should stay focused. However, this might be a bug in the 2.18 version. The settings editor was recently rewritten to fix a lot of bugs in the latest Beta versions, so you might try the 2.22 beta version and see if it is better. A new 2.23 Public version is planned within the next week or so.

But the mapper window will probably continue to have focus issues until the mapper rewrite later this year.

Yeah, I wasn't clear in the first post and I'm sorry about that - The issue is not just with speedwalking, it seems to be whenever there is a big chunk of text received too, like during fighting in the game too (oddly it doesn't take focus away when there is just one new line like when someone talks in a chat channel) - I can't use the trigger controls, editor, options, anything when this is happening, it is very frustrating you cannot type because it keeps moving the focus, the only way to get anything even close to working is to fight the system and keep clicking on the window and typing :(

OK, I will try look for the beta version thanks, I didn't realise there even was one

Try turning off your triggers to see if this still happens. My guess is that you have some trigger that is firing and doing something that changes the focus. Otherwise I cannot reproduce this on my copy here when playing a MUD.
