Serial Support |
I have been using zMUD for a long time as a MUD client and am finally getting around to looking at CMUD. In looking at CMUD it became obvious that it could be useful at a task that it wasn't purpose built for but for which it fits very well, the configuration of various network devices (via telnet and ssh). To that end I was wondering if Zugg had any plans, or would be willing to entertain, putting in support for serial connectivity. Telnet and SSh are wonderful however when I am first bringing up devices that have no network connections and need initial configurations I routinely access them directly through the db-9 console ports using windows terminal or putty. It would be great if the cmud could also do this and make my configurations and data collections much more efficient (run inital setup scripts, collect data after configurations are complete, etc). I would assume that someone had mentioned this topic at least in passing, but if not, I can see a few other folks who might want or need this function. Thanks.
