Exporting to Text |
Is it possible to export your triggers/alias's/class's, etc out from CMud in another format then XML? I would like to export them all in text format. I liked doing that with zmud, it was easier for me to look at it that way. Also it allows me to pull out certain triggers that i want to keep and ignore the ones i don't, but don't feel like rewriting all of them.

No. The text format in zMUD sucked, often exporting things incorrectly, and CMUD adds some new options (like script language) that aren't supported by the zScript syntax. Finally, the ultimate nail in its coffin - the #button command. If you think that's easier to understand than the XML for a button, I want some of whatever you're smoking.
The XML really is easy to understand - it's just different. I'm sure you'll get used to it.
And you can still export only a few things - just chose Export Selection from the File menu. Also, you can just copy or cut a setting and its XML will be placed on the clipboard, so you can then paste it wherever you like. |

Import from file worked in ZMUD, import frrom XML in CMUD doesn't. At least, not for me.

Well, adding text exporting wouldn't fix the XML exporting. If you've already reported the issue, have patience; if not, please please do so.

No, but you can paste it straight into the package editor instead. Just highlight the class you want it to go in and hit Ctrl+V and as long as it's formatted properly, your settings'll be created.

I did all mine manually and make it a point to make all the new ones in notepad before putting them into CMUD.
