That's not it at all, and I've done my best to describe. You click on the text tool, click on the map, it open an input field. You enter the text, it puts it there and never lets you select again

The problem with your problem is that it is hard to tell what your problem is. I just looked at the screen capture that you posted. It seems that what you are talking about is the room name and not a label. Room 70 appears to have no name. If this is what you are talking about then simply enter the name of the room in the appropriate box in the Text section of the properties box.

I think the issue in his snapshot is the "Falcon Way" labels. It doesn't appear he has zone connections, so I've started assuming he meant those.

Chamenas, when Anaristos is saying 'mapping mode' he meant Map Creation Mode. Is this what you were in, and not Follow Mode?

Yes, I already stated I was in Map Creation Mode, and that I removed the box. I've stated both of these several times. I may not know the most about these programs, but I'm not an idiot, I've answered these same questions several times.

I suggested on the previous page that you try undocking the mapper, and you never mentioned if you had or not. Did that fail too?

I never claimed you were an idiot. I was just seeking clarification on something that I've seen others mess up on. The main thing is that you are having a problem that no one else seems to be having a problem with, and the vast majority of the time when someone has a problem like that there tends to be a improper setting, a specific mode the user is not in, or some conflict with other settings/selections. If we don't go through a lot of those things, sometimes multiple times from different angles, then the solution gets missed. Don't worry about this, everyone here has had some problems that turned out to be because of something that wasn't set right.

No, I'm sorry that I haven't been able to get to it. I had to reset the session anyways because of the problem mentioned in the other thread. The only reason I could respond to everything else was because I had tried all those things. I do work at a help desk, so I often try to follow the logical steps of problem solving. But, as evidenced by the fact that I no longer code, I fail at that often too.

Here's a different question, which is impossible to see in your image (Room Properties is covering up the area I'm referring to). Was the padlock icon (this is located right above the arrow tool) showing a closed lock or an open one? If this has the closed lock, then even though you're in Map Mode the mapper will act like it's in Follow Mode. This was put in back in ZMud as a means to avoid random macro accidents when focus randomly changed with the mapper open.

I've noticed this one gets overlooked a lot by newish/newish-to-a-feature people.

As it turns out, I run my mapper with the lock set and this does not prevent me from deleting labels. Though who knows if some of the problems I've had stem from the lock setting. I also have my map docked. As I said before, sometimes the mapper will not "delete" the label from the map until one reloads the file. I am beginning to think that his map file is corrupted and that is why he is having this problem. As non-technical as this suggestion may be, I am thinking that he should start over. He can use zonecopy120 to move over the zones that seem to be OK.
