[2.21] XML export not exporting right things |
1. I used the File -> Export XML (All) option to backup all my packages. This saved only my Lusternia package, including all modules and windows I have in that one package. It did not save any of my other (more than a dozen now) packages.
2. I selected the only module in one of my non-main packages. I tried the right-click -> Export Selection to XML option. That saved my main session window as XML and nothing more. Not even a setting from the same package, let alone all settings in my current selection.
3. I selected all class folders in the same module and did the Export Selection to XML again. This did save all my settings as XML, but it doesn't include the parent module/package, of course. That's the expected behavior, in this case. I'm just noting it because I really wanted to get results from either (1) or (2) that backed up my settings nicely.
4. Repeated step 2, only I exported a module in my main Lusternia package. That worked as I expected it would.
Seems there's a scope issue with the XML export, maybe? |

1) That is correct. Export XML (all) *only* exports the current package. You need to switch to each package tab to export each one. The reason for this is that when you Import XML, it is only going to create a single package file, so you can't have more than one package within the XML.
2) That definitely sounds like a bug. I assume this happens no matter what module you select?
3) Yep, that is expected.
4) So your "main Lusternia package" is the package that also contains the main session window? Whereas the module in (2) was in a completely separate package? |

In (1), I had the other package selected, but it still exported my Lusternia package instead.
In any package other than Lusternia, when I export the module (through the context menu, at least), it always saves my Lusternia window object instead.
In (2), I couldn't export a module in the package with the matching name. In (4), however, I was able to export a module bearing my character's name from the Lusternia package. |
