importing .are files to generate mapes |
is there a way to import area files so you can use them to generate maps of
diferent zones easier than having to roam the zone in automaper mode cause
sometimes you can end up with multiples of a room |

I have no idea where these .are files you're talking about are coming from - the only .are files I know about are for use with Neverwinter nights, and they're certainly not going to be compatible. Wherever they're from, they don't have anything to do with CMUD, so the short answer is no. The long answer is that depending on their format, you might be able to write a script to build a proper map database from it, but it's doubtful.

The .are-fileformat is frequently used for areas in DIKU-muds. There seems to be some variations of the format as well so I think it might not be that easy to properly support the fileformat for all MUDs using it. Though the general layout of the area could probably be retrieved. |
