Zmud was working, now it wont start. |
ive got a registered version of zmud, for some reason my zmud has stopped working. its possible that i hit the unlicense utility cuz its right by the zmud icon, but otherwise im stumped on why it wont run. Is there any information i can give you to help u help me? I've never had zmud just stop working before, except on vista, but this is windows xp cuz i hate vista.

We'll definitely need more information. What exactly do you mean by "won't start"? Does zMUD give an error message of any kind, are there any popups or anything, or does clicking on the icon just seem to do nothing. Does zMUD appear in the task manager (press Ctrl+Alt+Del) when you try to run it? In any of these cases, pretty much the best thing to do will be to reinstall zMUD. Uninstall it, save anything you want to keep (like your .mud files) and delete everything else in the zMUD folder. Then reinstall zMUD and hopefully that'll fix it.
What should be happening if you've just unlicensed your copy is that you'll get a popup stating that your trial has expired and that you should buy a copy or enter a key. That'll allow you to request a new key from the previous orders section of the store once you've logged in and enter it into zMUD to relicense your copy. |

Sounds like a problem with the copy protection; you'll have to wait for Zugg to confirm that.

zMud can get into a state where 1 of its 2 processes doesn't end. This is caused by an errant script still running. First check with the task manager to see if there is a zmud.exe process. If there is then end it.
If you your found a process sitting around then you may be good to go. It is possible although unlikely that by uninstalling and reinstalling while the process was going you have damaged the program file. If it doesn't launch properly try one more reinstall, making sure that no process was left in memory. |
