Is CMud fully compatible with 64bit OS?

Hi again,

I am having so many problems with CMud that I am starting to wonder if like some other software, its been built specifically for the 32bit version of Vista.

Could the fact that I'm running the 64bit version of Vista be adding to my problems?

Thanks

I have no idea. I don't have 64bit here, although maybe someone else who does can answer. But you'll need to tell us more specifically what problem you are having to get help on this. What exact error message are you getting, or what exact problem are you having.

Hi Zugg,

Thanks for taking the time to address.

Today I uninstalled and reinstalled CMud with administrator rights and I always run it as administrator anyway.

I then opened a session to Archaea and loaded one package into that session.

I then tried to open a session to avalon-rpg at the same time. A second window opened but all the settings for avalon appeared as a 'superclass or window folder' in the first session window. I have had continual problems with classes and modules and packages opening in the wrong sessions and an ongoing problem with not being able to open a second session to the same MUD (not that I do that very often).

I also have a problem saving mdb files sometimes (I do remember the error messages for that showing references to kernel32 (not much help I know).

I know you cant do anything about these problems without more information, but I often cant replicate the problems because I dont always remember the exact path that I took to get to them. Vista 64bit has caused me no end of problems with other software as well and is very poorly supported with drivers. I think I'm going to have to end up buying and installing the 32bit edition which means that I'm not going to get the best out of my lovely new dual processer. But c'est la vie.

I have had no problems with code not running properly and have successfully imported and tweaked some fairly sophisticated zmud scripts, it just seems to be the interface that I have problems with. For now I think I will have to return to Zmud, but I will continue to test new versions of CMud as them come out.

Regards

It works normally on WinXP 64 bit, I haven't had any special problems with it.

Running in 64bit Vista. Takes a while to get used to, and there's a few important patches out there you'll need to get (eg the one that allows you to address all 4gb of your ram without crashing) but yeah, it's compatible

I think the original poster is running into some bugs with multiple session windows. I think those problems occur in CMUD no matter what version of Windows you are using.

I'm not sure what he means when talking about saving MDB files. MDB files are used by the mapper, and the current mapper in CMUD only supports a single session. You shouldn't try to use multiple mapper windows with multiple sessions as it just won't work properly.

In any case, I don't think any of these problems have anything to do with Vista 64.
