I hate to release a new public version and then run, but I've already postponed our yearly holiday break for several days. The 2.18 Public version has undergone more testing than any other version of CMUD or zMUD in our history. But that doesn't mean that it is bug-free (something that is really impossible these days for a program of >1.5 million lines of code). However, it is certainly much more stable than the previous 1.34 Public version of CMUD. I've personally been playing MUDs every night for several weeks now and haven't had any crashes at all.

So, I apologize if you run into any problems with the new 2.18 version, but go ahead and post your problems in the CMUD Discussion Forum and maybe some other CMUD users will be able to help you fix the problem or find a workaround. I won't be releasing any new versions of CMUD until January.

Also, during the holidays we won't be answering our email. This is the only time during the year that we take a several week break away from work and don't answer email. We will reply to your emails as soon as we can after the holidays.
