[2.18]Do notes cause a slowdown?

Hi, I was planning on putting some scripts up on the package library, and in doing so I carefully typed out some notes into the notes field on my settings so those who chose to download it would find it easy to understand/modify. I've never used notes before, but now that I have them saved in my settings, I'm noticing a lot of lag just to click a setting with notes or to move around the directory tree in any class that contains settings with notes even if the setting being clicked does not contain notes. I'm not burying my settings 20 classes deep, I only go one level deep and mainly so I don't go crazy trying to keep everything straight.

No, Notes/Comments shouldn't cause any slowdown at all. I'm not sure what to suggest about the speed problem though.
