ATCP Support in CMUD v2.03 (good news!) |
Thanks to some help from Gamma_Ray, I have gotten the full ATCP support working in v2.03. (I also convinced Imperian to stop deleting my test character so that I can do more testing there).
The following ATCP commands are supported:
AUTH: The full Auth.Request protocol is handled properly now. This is transparent and automatic when you have ATCP enabled in your Session preferences. CMUD sends the following list of packages that are supported:
auth 1,char_name 1,char_vitals 1,room_brief 1,room_exits 1,composer 1,ping 1
CHAR_NAME, CHAR_VITALS: Currently ignored, but you can intercept it with a Telnet trigger if you want to process it yourself.
ROOM_BRIEF: Sends the room name to the mapper.
ROOM_EXITS: Sends the room exits to the mapper.
COMPOSER: Opens a new tab in the text editor and allows you to edit the file. The Save button in the editor toolbar will send the edited file back to the MUD and close the editor tab. The Cancel button in the editor toolbar will cancel editing and close the editor tab. When you activate the Composer, keyboard focus switches to the editor window. When you use Save or Cancel, keyboard focus returns to the MUD window.
PING: Currently ignored.
With the mapper stuff, you just need to put the mapper into Map Mode and run the Autoconfig wizard. Enter a valid movement direction and click Next. Then uncheck the "Room Descriptions" option and click Next, then click Finish. Even though the autoconfig wizard won't highlight the data from the MUD correctly (a normal problem when overriding the mapper via Tags), it will still work.
In fact, the mapper seems to work flawlessly, which is a huge improvement for IronRealms MUDs (which are normally hard to map because of weather changes).
I uncovered a bug on Imperian when using the Composer while MCCP compression is enabled. I have notified IronRealms about this problem, so if you want to use the ATCP support on Imperian, you should turn off MCCP compression in the Session properties for now. I don't know if this problem effects any other IronRealms MUD or not.
This should be great news for IronRealms players! I expect to release the v2.03 Beta at the end of this week. |

Yay! Was dreading the thought of asking for help parsing the exit info correctly.
